Every week we will introduce you to some of the most adorable, adoptable pets available from our partner shelters Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter, Tri-County Humane Society, Pet Haven of MN, Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, Underdog Rescue, MN, Midwest Animal Rescue & Services and Ruff Start Rescue. Join us Fridays as we introduce them to you on Classic Hits KDUZ.

Heart of Minnesota Animal Center – Rosie

Hi, my name is Rosie and I like you! Well, to be fair, I like everyone! I am a huge fan of food, which has added a few extra pounds to my figure, but I’m working hard to get fit for my new family. People see me as a pretty laid-back gentle soul, and I don’t argue with that assessment…it’s spot on!

I was found as a stray, and my previous home was not able to claim me. I am ten years young and a free agent looking for new adventures! I love to snuggle, and there is no greater place to be than at your side. I follow the love-literally! And with so much love to give back, I’m anxious to meet and join your family.

Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue – Tengo

Are you the patient, calm, drive-under-the-speed-limit human I’m looking for? My name is Tengo, and I’m a 3-year-old male Domestic Short Hair cat looking for my forever human. I’m shy and don’t trust people yet, but I am hoping the right human will come along and show me how wonderful humans can be! Ruff Start found me as a stray, and I’m still learning how to be a pet kitty. They say I have FIV, but I can live with other animals and my quality of life should be the same as any other kitty’s!

Hawk Creek Animal Shelter – Honeybun & Clover

We are social and sweet guinea pigs. We enjoy playing with toys and running around. We are both around 1 year old, Clover is black and white while Honeybun is calico. Cuddling with our person and watching some TV is so much fun! Veggies are the best and we get them every day to eat. We have lived together and get along great. Huts are fun to hang out in according to Honeybun, but Clover would rather see what’s going on in the world!

Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) – Celsius

Hello! My name is Celsius, but my foster family has been calling me Tutty (rhymes with Buddy). I’m a pretty adventurous dude! I love going for walks and car rides! I’m still working on my leash manners, my foster family says I pull too much. I can’t help it – I just love to explore!

At home, I like to play fetch with my favorite squeaky tennis ball and chew on stuffed toys. I get along well with other dogs and am a perfect gentleman when meeting new friends, four-legged and two-legged alike! I do not like cats, though, and don’t want to share my forever home with one.

I’m not a very vocal dog – I haven’t barked once so far in my foster home! When I hear strange noises and see strangers, I quietly watch them. I whine a little bit at night when I’m put in my kennel for bedtime, but I calm down and fall asleep quickly. I am just getting started with basic obedience and my foster family says I am learning quickly and doing better every day!

I am a big boy with a big heart, looking for a family who will give me big cuddles, big adventures, and big treats! If this sounds like you, I would love to meet you! Click here! to apply today!

Tri-County Animal Shelter – Dante

Dante is a gorgeous 6-year-old Siberian Husky mix who needs someone who understands his breed and is ideally home a lot. He is housetrained, but he would do best kept on an often, regular schedule to set him up for success in his new home. His favorite things include canned pumpkin and peanut butter as a treat. He also likes to be brushed and is happy to get plenty of butt scratches.

Pet Haven of Minnesota – Sweetness

Sweetness is a 17-year-old “grand dame” looking for her new palace. She lets you know when to pet her, then lets you know it is time to stop. She’s not a cuddler, but wants to be in proximity to where you are, so don’t expect her to sit on your lap or even next to you on the sofa. The good news is that she stays off the furniture, preferring her own bed or a comfy spot on the floor.

As a senior, Sweetness is more into napping than anything. She’s a quiet companion who will follow you at times, but generally is content with companionable quiet. She sometimes pays no attention to visitors and sometimes goes to a different room when strangers arrive. She can get irritated and will put you in your place like a grand lady should. She sometimes plays a little, but she’ll let you know when she needs that kind of diversion, and it seldom lasts for long. At 17, she’s more chill.

She’s an indoor cat since she is declawed and likely needs to be the only pet in the house. Sweetness needs a quiet home without other pets and definitely no young children. She’ll get snippy if she’s aggravated. She doesn’t like the vet and needs sedation on a visit for health care.
