Intern Pikachu will steal your heart then do your taxes.

The Pokemon Company revealed last month that the number of monsters under what is now a pretty sizable umbrella will be growing later this year. Scarlet & Violet will officially usher in the ninth generation of Pokemon, which in turn will likely bring the total number of Pokemon created to other 1000. We hit the 900 mark last year, so it stands to reason there will be at least 100 more Pokemon introduced via gen nine which will bring the franchise up to four figures.

There are any number of ways you can collect all of those Pokemon too. In the games, via trading cards, and in soft toy form. Perhaps the most expensive way to catch 'em all unless you're a collector adamant on getting your hands on a Pikachu Illustrator card. Speaking of everyone's favorite electric mouse, Pikachu probably has more plushes than any other video game character on earth at this point, let alone just Pokemon.

You can now add Intern Pikachu to that already long list as the world's most famous Pokemon has now donned a suit. Intern Pikachu is available now through the Pokemon Center, and it is adorable as it is hardworking and efficient. The plush has a pair of glasses, a shirt and a tie, and even a little briefcase. Pikachu is also wearing a suit jacket but no trousers, Winnie The Pooh-style.

Intern Pikachu isn't the result of someone at Pokemon HQ saying “hey, we haven't put Pikachu in a suit yet”. The new plush is actually linked to the time of year. April is almost upon us (where is 2022 going?) and is the month of new beginnings in Japan. It's when a lot of graduates begin their new jobs, usually dressed the same way as this Pikachu plush, although we hope they wear trousers to the office. First impressions and all that.

You can order the Intern Pikachu plush right now for £15.99, and it should be with you in three to six business days. Plenty of time to order it and get the plush in time for your own new beginnings on April 1. Speaking of which, if you're an adult with a partner who doesn't understand your love of Pokemon plushes, maybe order it to arrive on April 1 and pretend it was sent by someone playing an April Fool's joke on you, then obviously just keep it anyway.

Aloy's creators discuss her characterisation, and how she has attracted mass appeal.

Josh has been gaming for as long as he can remember. That love began with a mild childhood addiction to the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive since he lives in the UK. Back then, Sonic 2 quickly became his favorite game and as you might have guessed from his picture, the franchise has remained close to his heart ever since. Nowadays, he splits his time between his PS4 and his Switch and spends far too much time playing Fortnite. If you're a fan of gaming, wrestling, and soccer, give him a follow on Twitter @BristolBeadz.
