A poorly fox cub found in the middle of the road and taken to RSPCA Oak and Furrows has been comforted with a toy elephant in adorable footage provided by the centre.

Posting onto Facebook about the baby animal, the wildlife rescue centre said that she had "probably been through the mill", and would require further veterinary treatment.

"She was very very dehydrated and she has really poorly eyes. The team are treating her with fluid therapy and are caring for her eyes. A trip to the vet for further treatment to hopefully get a medication plan in place."

The comment was accompanied with a video of the little fox sleeping and hugging a toy elephant.

Oak and Furrows relies heavily on fundraising and donations to keep the centre running
