A fan has already created a plush toy based on Gen 9 Starter Pokémon Sprigatito, from the recently announced Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games.

A Pokémon fan has already made a plush toy based on the recently revealed Starter Pokémon from the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced during the Pokémon Presents February livestream event celebrating Pokémon Day, alongside other game announcements and updates.

The trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet thrilled fans with its display of new environments and seeming similarities in world-design to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is very unique compared to previous Pokémon titles. Perhaps the most exciting thing shown in the Scarlet and Violet trailer is the image of three brand-new Starter Pokémon, teasing the long-awaited release of Pokémon Gen 9. The announcement came as a surprise to many, with Nintendo launching a host of Pokémon games in recent months, not only including Arceus, but also Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Fans were expecting a Pokémon Legends: Arceus DLC reveal before a Gen 9 reveal, though the announcement has been good news for the community.

Fans have been extremely quick to create art based on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, especially that of the Gen 9 Starter Pokémon. A talented multimedia artist named Jade Jiang posted a picture of her handmade plush on Twitter only five hours after the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet announcement (via Kotaku). Their Grass-type Sprigatito plush is extremely adorable and accurate to the picture of the cat Pokémon as seen in the trailer. Jade Jiang was accepting offers for the Sprigatito, asking for around $200, and sold the cute plush the next day.

Despite Pokémon Scarlet and Violet only recently being revealed, many fans have already taken to social media to share their fan art and creations based on the new Gen 9 Starter Pokémon. Talk of the new game is widespread on socials, and fans are even discussing theories about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Some have also gone back through the Sword and Shield and BDSP games to hunt for any clues of Violet and Scarlet they may have missed in the past. More information on the upcoming Pokémon game is to be expected in the coming months, but the charming new Starter Pokémon will most likely tide the community over.

As well as revealing the first look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, along with its Starters, the February Pokémon Presents stream supplied very exciting news for the franchise as a whole. As well as the free Daybreak update for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, updates for Pokémon GO, and even a new Pokémon Unite fighter were also confirmed. Although all of the announcements are important for the franchise, most were reasonably overshadowed by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which will release sometime near the end of this year.
