They might be cute and cuddly, but don't let their appearances fool you! Some of these stuffed animals pack a mighty punch!

Anime characters come in all shapes and sizes to fit any fan’s preference, even including stuffed animals. In the real world, stuffed animals are cute and cuddly inanimate objects that lie on a bed or couch. In anime, however, anything is possible. Those stuffed animals can even talk, fight, and make very questionable life choices.

While some of these characters are indeed adorable, their personalities might not fit their appearance, making fans thankful that their favorite plushy will never come to life.

Adélie from Space Dandy is a Gentooan from Planet Humboldt. They possess the ability to transfer the minds of others temporarily into dolls. Adélie’s stuffed animal of choice is a patchwork orange penguin, and she uses it during stressful situations. Fans of the series will get to experience the humorous main protagonist, Dandy, stumbling around and fighting off opponents while also trapped in a stuffed animal body.

Ioryogi wasn’t always a stuffed animal, he was once a servant of the King in the Other World, a realm that coexists with the Netherworld and Heavenly World. That was until Ioryogi fell in love with an Angel from the Heavenly World and broke their non-aggression treaty. As punishment, God turned him into a stuffed dog and forced him to aid the main character, Kobato.

As her companion, he must help her fulfill her contract by filling a mysterious bottle with the “healed hearts” of people before the four seasons end or Ioryogi will never return to his original form again.

Since Kurumi was a baby, her faithful companion has always been her teddy bear, Albrecht, giving her comfort as any stuffed animal would for a small child. Albrecht is an average teddy bear that Kurumi carries with her everywhere, but when she needs him the most, Kurumi uses her special ability to make Albrecht come to life. When Albrecht is alive, he demonstrates extreme combat skills and even hacking abilities - nearly any skill that Kurumi needs, no matter the cost.

Mod-Souls in the Soul Society were designed to assist the Shinigami in taking down the large number of Hollows that began to take over. As they were used to reanimate the corpses of humans, they were then exterminated for ethical reasons. However, some Mod-Souls managed to avoid this fate. Ririn and her group were kept around to hunt Bounts, or beings that live forever by eating souls, thanks to Kisuke Urahara. Unfortunately, since Mod-Souls can’t simply walk around all the time, Ririn’s only option was to possess a bird stuffed animal.

Maromi was originally a character that was named and created after Tsukiko’s deceased dog. After Tsukiko is brutally attacked by the Lil Slugger, she starts to experience a hallucination of some sort that causes her to hear and interact with the Maromi plush she created. Despite the show having different main characters in each episode, the most reoccurring character besides Lil Slugger is the cute Maromi character that ends up gaining huge popularity as the season progresses.

Not as feisty as his leader, Ririn, Noba shares the shy and quiet personality of his companion, Chad. Like most Mod-Souls that evaded extermination, Noba is also forced to possess the body of a stuffed animal to keep from being detected by the Soul Society.

That doesn't limit his teleportation ability and his ability to create wormholes to protect his friends from getting hit by their opponent. When fighting off Bounts Noba and his team partner up with Ichigo and his friends, another group to have once been criminals in the eyes of the Soul Society.

Both a plushie and robot, Monokuma can be first described as cute and cheerful, but in reality, Monokuma is a sadistic character that really enjoys all things evil. Monokuma can be seen giving wise and helpful advice to the students of Hope’s Peak Academy, where he is the self-proclaimed Headmaster. Yet, his true goal is to torment any and all students, making them play a twisted death game if they ever hope to get out of their school alive.

Another of the Bount hunting Mod-Souls is the comic relief character, Kurodo. Despite being somewhat of a coward, Kurodo was specifically designed with a rather unique shape-shifting ability. Not only does this skill help Kurodo by allowing him to look and sound like whomever he chooses, but it also grants him access to their abilities as well. The only disadvantage is that anyone who can sense spirit energy will not be fooled by his tricks.

The Teddy Demons from Sleepy Princess In The Demon Castle make up for their lack of offensive might with their adorable appearance and personality. While being the lowest-ranking demons in the series, they are often just kept as pets and companions for some of the other characters.

When having to face anyone in battle, they normally have two options - run away or to call for more Teddy Demons. As cute and cuddly as these creatures are, in large numbers, they are not to be trifled with.

Not always trapped in a stuffed animal body, Kon sometimes takes over the body of Ichigo while he is out fighting. Kon generally has a reputation for being nigh unreliable and quite the pervert. Thankfully, he does have some redeeming qualities, proving himself to be quite useful to Ichigo and his friends, from helping fight off opponents to even helping Ichigo protect his little sisters.
